Hibi has decided she wanted pink hair! First we bleached it and then we dyed it pink. It didn't come out PINK pink, but it did come out pink.

Cool!
I decided early on that hair is just hair.....Plus, I really feel that children need to have control over their own bodies. I did have to question that one recently when Hibi asked if she could get various body parts pierced! She hasn't even done her ears yet. I have no problem with ears....and I didn't have any problem with other parts, either, but I did want to make sure she really wanted to do it--ie be old enough to know what she's doing. I had said that when she was 18 she could choose to do whatever she wanted. Paul questioned that, saying he takes seriously the idea of letting her have control over her own body. However, it appears that reputable piercing places will solve the problem for us--they won't do it until at least age 16. :-)
She's always had a low threshhold for pain, though (a dentist one time told her that when she has a baby, the word to remember is 'epidural'...) and I have a feeling that one set of piercings will be enough for a while.
That's cool, it is pink!
